Top 200 Hits of the 90s

I'm just going to gloss over this past week, because it can basically be summed up in one word: deadline. Friday came sooner than expected, but the work got done, and then came the weekend. And boy, this weekend was awesome!!

Amanda, Havah, Jason, Tony, Joe and I went to Clovis/Yosemite. We wanted to go skiing at badger pass, but it was a bit rainy, so we decided to just go for a drive to look at the waterfalls and play in the snow. Yosemite was *SO* pretty! The rain created this beautiful gloomy weather that made everything so strikingly beautiful. It was hard to capture with my cell phone, but this is what we saw when we drove through the tunnel and got our first glimpse of the valley: a beautiful sea of trees, El Capitan, Bridal Veil Falls, and a cloudy Half Dome. Love it!

We had not one, but two snowball fights in Yosemite. There was a bit of snow left on the ground in some places of the park (or "God's playground," as my Dad called it several times) so we took full advantage of our snowgear and let each other have it! After our snowball fights, we went to Table Mountain, the Indian casino that was on the way back home. According to Jason, patronizing Indian casinos is every white person's moral responsibility to make up for the sins of our ancestors. It was fun -- Joe showed us how to play Paigow (and won!), Jason lost horribly at blackjack (he definitely should have split those eights...), and Tony played some Wheel of Fortune slots. Then we spent the rest of the weekend chillin at home with my parents, eating a TON of delicious food. That's one perk of going home -- my parents eat *so* well. And my mom did my laundry(!). She said that she actually misses doing it!! I'll have to bring it home more often ;)

The weekend was musically diverse, too. On the way to Clovis, and all throughout Yosemite, we went through the Top 200 Hits of the 90s. So many good and terrible songs.; so much to sing along to! I was reminded of the karaoke CDs I made for my drives to and from high school. I need to make some again -- car karaoke is awesome. On the way home, Tony shared some really awesome jazz. Then we finished off the day with a trip to Juan's Place. You really can't go wrong with burritos the size of your head!

Weekends are the best.
